AV is usually forgotten in a refit plan
Fit-out contractors strip ceilings and walls quickly. Projectors, ceiling speakers, display mounts, codecs and racks of AV processing end up stacked in a corridor with nowhere to go. Most fit-out skips are not licensed for electrical waste, so the kit needs its own disposal route.
What commercial AV we collect
- Projectors and screens, including ceiling-mounted units
- Commercial displays, video walls and digital signage
- Video conferencing codecs, cameras, microphones and room systems
- PA amplifiers, mixers, speakers and ceiling audio
- Control processors, matrix switchers and rack equipment
Data on AV kit
Conferencing systems, signage players and control processors often store call logs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact directories and network settings. Devices with storage are reset or have their storage destroyed, and they are listed on your certificate.
Plan it with your contractor
- Agree a holding area and a date before strip-out starts.
- Ask the contractor to keep AV separate from general waste.
- Book one collection for AV and any IT being replaced at the same time.
